Feedburner is ending

I’m not entirely sure what Feedburner is, but I’m told that it is important to many of you. The program is ending on July 1st and will be replaced by Feedblitz. You can sign up to Feedblitz here:

Feedburner is how your rss feeds are published. Rss feeds is how some of us subscribe to your blog.

I believe you have some sort of plugin (probably FeedSmith?) that publishes your rss feeds through feedburner automatically. It would probably be best to disable it. Otherwise the little orange button next to the privacy policy will stop working when feedburner shuts down.

It looks like it probably won’t be a problem for most users, as most probably use Feedburner for RSS subscription, not email service:

    https://developers.google.com/search/blog/2021/04/changes-to-feedburner

This will keep the product up and running for all users, but it also means that we will be turning down most non-core feed management features, including email subscriptions, at that time.

For many users, no action is required. All existing feeds will continue to serve uninterrupted, and you can continue to create new accounts and burn new feeds. Core feed management functionality will continue to be supported, such as the ability to change the URL, source feed, title, and podcast metadata of your feed. Basic analytics on feed requests and the ability to create enclosure tags for MP3 files will also continue to be supported.

I subscribe to this blog via the URL https://www.themoneyillusion.com/feed/, can anyone tell me if I need to change anything?

I think the feedburner “turn down” is just for the email subscription features, not RSS – or at least that’s what my reading of the relevant google support article suggests. https://support.google.com/feedburner/answer/10483501

This mini blog is a real world example of why, in the show “The Office”, it was a meta joke to call “Nick” the “IT guy”.

You provided the link to the Cafe Hayek blog feed – I’m assuming that’s not what you intended?

So, per the helpful words of Frank T and laverya – please don’t disable the rss plugin as Felipe suggested? That portion of feedburner will keep working, and it would be good to be able to continue using it.
    Thanks!
