Do you think Biden wrote that message? Does he even know the password for his twitter account?
27. May 2024 at 10:39
Amen Ryan. It’s also coming from a warmonger who consistently spent his entire career pushing to get US troops needlessly killed even until today. I can’t think of a president in my living memory that has a crass indifference to the lives of military members than Biden. And it’s telling the need of Biden to play identity politics even if that short pro forma post. Likewise very few servicemembers laid down their lives altruisticly, most were enslaved by people like Biden and then indirectly on pure happenstance killed. And that liberty they died for, that’s rich coming from someone like Biden where liberty is anathema to his existence.
Can hate Trump all you want but on this particular one, valuing soldiers and peace, Trump is way ahead.

I don’t know the password for my Twitter account, so I’d be surprised if he knew his.
That’s your take away from these two messages, though? Lol.
27. May 2024 at 10:52
@Ryan:
Well we do know Trump wrote his. LOL that you support that guy.
@Peter:
Yeah the guy who makes fun of POW heroes and calls those who served suckers values soldiers.
Pathetic. This country used to value honor and maturity and respect.
27. May 2024 at 11:29
Being a POW doesn’t mean you are a hero, in fact it generally means you and your unit was a failure. Besides often being a POW is a better deal than the alternative hence why people surrender, often proactively.
And most people who served until recent times were suckers. They got less money that they would have having not served and crap benefits in exchange get a lifetime of medical problems and discrimination. It really only benefit useless eaters which even in the military, were hated by the rank and file as it was basically a make work welfare program.
Now post-9/11 that changed significantly with the modern Cadillac enlistments and benefits but still a poor deal for most outside the officer corp.

I would hope that Biden didn’t write the message and doesn’t know his twitter password. The executive branch has ~4M employees, Biden has better things to do.
27. May 2024 at 13:24
@Peter:
Classy. Happy Memorial Day to you too.
27. May 2024 at 14:12
Peter, did you read your own message? You are defending Trump’s mocking of prisoners of war? And criticizing Biden’s message simply because he didn’t necessarily write it himself? Talk about Trump Derangement Syndrome.
It’s just amazing the positions trumpies will take to support their orange savior.
Trump is a bad person. Peter, you are entitled to your preferences and you are entitled to vote for him anyway. You are entitled to believe strange things about Biden, like that he’s an evil mastermind capable of organizing a multi-state election-stealing conspiracy without leaving a single trace and is also too senile to write his own Memorial Day message.
But to fail to recognize how bad Trump is makes me wonder: how? What magic does Trump possess? How does Trump make Peter and so many other intelligent people spend their time defending the indefensible with pretzel logic? I don’t get it.

First of all, Biden didn’t write that. His handlers did.
Secondly, this is another logical fallacy.
Just because someone presents themselves as more presidential doesn’t mean their policy proposals are better, or that somehow they will be a better president.
That’s not good logic.
A better gauge would be action, not words. Trump campaigned in New Jersey and the Bronx. He agreed to a presidential debate with CNN moderators, who are not moderate in the least; in other words, he agreed to a debate with a radical left news organization who has a history of giving democrat candidates debate questions in advance (see Hillary clinton), and who will of course interpose their bias and ask questions that are predominately one-sided. We can be sure that they won’t ask any hard questions like whose the “big guy” Hunter refers to.
That’s impressive courage, because not only are you debating Biden, but also the moderator and interviewer. It’s unlikely Biden and his handlers would agree to a interview with Fox.
Actions are louder than words.

Everyone, It’s amazing how many people cannot recognize when a post is intended not to be taken seriously. Lighten up!!
Ryan, I don’t recall the password for my account.
Peter, You said:
“It’s also coming from a warmonger”
LOL, the major criticism of Biden has been his rapid withdrawal from Afghanistan. He’s perhaps the least warlike president of my lifetime. (I don’t like him, but for other reasons.)
In contrast, Trump is running on a platform of invading Mexico, which would be a war crime.
“in fact it generally means you and your unit was a failure”
LOL, are you a leftist trying to make Trumpistas look stupid? Hard to believe you are not a fake account.

Sara – Scott didn’t commit a logical fallacy, you failed to read (or maybe understand?) what he said. He is explicitly *not* talking about Trump policies but about the man.
28. May 2024 at 07:43
I don’t care if I agreed 100% with every issue Trump stood for (although that’s impossible because Trump doesn’t have rationally bawd positions and the positions he does take change based on who he last talked to or whether it rained yesterday), he is not fit to be a mall cop. Look at that tweet. It’s all about him.
On the day we remember those who sacrificed their lives for others, he is only thinking about himself and his personal grievances. He is the worst kind of human being. He would throw his own mother overboard to make himself more comfortable. He is just a despicable human being.
28. May 2024 at 07:47
Look at Peter lol. This guy that sacrificed his own very life for the benefit of strangers and his friends in arms is not called a loser. For 250 years everyone agreed to honor those who gave their lives for us. Who sacrificed everything for others…. Then some anti-Christ comes along and bewitches half the population and now those that sacrificed everything for others are now losers. Peter, you are have been betwitched by evil. You are in a cult. God help you.

Not at all. Memorial Day is barely a hundred years old and is there to remember those military members who DIED during wartime. Sacrifice, justness, etc irrelevant to that. A draftee didn’t sacrifice anything, he was sacrificed. A volunteer didn’t sacrifice either, he was just in the wrong place at the wrong time. Sacrifice requires intentionality of being harmed and a draftee sitting on the toilet who catches a artillery round isn’t that, likewise friendly fire.
Very few soldiers willfully sacrificed their lives and when they did, it was generally detrimental and they didn’t do it for liberty; they weren’t ideological driven suicide bombing volunteers. Contrary to Hollywood, throwing yourself on a grenade only causes more casualties, not less. As the saying goes, the best way to turn a drowning into a mass drowning is to jump in and try and save them.
I’m not against Memorial Day but let’s not dishonor the war dead by turning it into something it’s not. It’s not a narcissistic day like we treat it today where we celebrate our politicians sacrificing slaves for their reelection campaigns, it’s not a celebration of life. It’s there to remember those who died needlessly. It’s a somber day of reflection, not 4th of July Jr. We sacrificed millions against their will to make sure your favorite crook was re-elected, that is what Memorial Day is about.
PS: And yes before the cries of “oh look another arm chair warrior”, I’m actually a combat veteran and not just by theater. But actually engaged in combat operations themselves.
28. May 2024 at 09:19
Peter seems like the type of chap who judges a general’s success by how many of their men got killed.
Hard to not assume that he’s a leftist troll designed to make Trump supporters look insane.
28. May 2024 at 09:55
Chris, Actually, I’m not talking about the man. I’m making a joke. In my post I say nothing about Trump. It’s Trump that is doing the talking.
Sara has no sense of humor. None.

I fail to see the problem.
What, precisely, did Trump say that isn’t true?
Engoron and his wife are radical left neo-marxists. They don’t hide it. They openly support that movement.
And New York law requires no evidence to convict someone of sexual assault. The bar is so low that all that’s required is an accusation, testimony, then the hope that the jury will believe you. Ask any New York attorney that’s not a radical left wing neomarxist, and they’ll tell you that it was a sham trial that will be reversed on appeal.
And it’s common sense that Mar-a-lago, despite what the prosecutor in New York might think, is worth a lot more than just 18M. It sold for 18M in 1981. If you think you can buy Mar-a-lago for 18M, then I have a seaside resort for you in Missouri. Please contact me ASAP.
He did exaggerate sqft. That was a fib, but all banks do their due diligence. Indeed, the bank testified on his belalf. They said that the sqft claim was NOT the reason for giving the loan, and the loan was paid on time. There were no victims.
The real problem with America is not Donald Trump, a businessman who does what all businessmen do — lie on their loan applications for more liquidity or better rates, forcing the banks to do their due diligence, but rather people like Scott Sumner. It’s radicals that will try to justify this type of lawfare in the name of the common good. Sumner has a political agenda, and Trump is in the way. Some people believe in democracy; they believe that we are a republic, and that the people have a voice; and other people like, Scott, believe that the elites should be in charge and everyone else should simply obey. And if Trump is in the way of those elites, then we should use lawfare to remove him.

Funny thing about it is the (slight) majority of veterans will likely vote for Donald Trump. This is the guy they want.

“It’s not a narcissistic day like we treat it today where we celebrate our politicians sacrificing slaves for their reelection campaigns, it’s not a celebration of life. It’s there to remember those who died needlessly. It’s a somber day of reflection, not 4th of July Jr.”
Yet you honor the narcissist who on the day when most of us honor the dead can only talk about himself. Even most narcissists can forget about themselves a little bit on special days. (I am also a veteran.)
