Ray, That’s Trump being vindictive in the video, not me. I never gloat over anyone getting sick, and indeed I hope Trump recovers.

Realistically, given the size of this outbreak, someone will die from it. We may not hear their name (like if it’s the parent or grandparent of a server at the event).

I have never understood why certain individuals are so afraid of this virus. I have contact with this virus every day, I am not afraid of an infection. The virus is not a problem on an individual level, the risks one takes are small.
The mass infections are the problem. We must be afraid of superspreaders that are not detected. We must be afraid of wrong governmental tactics.
Germany and many other countries are still pursuing a forward looking approach of tracking. This does not make much sense, with this method you only get a lot of negative tests.
A backward orientation would be much more important: We have to find the superspreaders. People like Trump, who do not follow hygiene rules.
And if they are as resistant to advice as Trump is, then these people must be locked up if necessary, as a last resort, if all other measures fail. Severe penalties would probably be even more important to deter copy-cats. Punish one, educate thousands.
Keep in mind, this virus is quite harmless, its fatality is low, neverthelss the Western world is completely overwhelmed by it. Imagine now a virus that is actually really dangerous and deadly. That would mean total collapse, the end of the Western world as we know it.
