Farewell to the farewell
I often criticize Donald Trump, but he actually gave a decent farewell address when leaving office. Not up there with Washington’s masterpiece, but pretty good. Here’s an excerpt:
All Americans were horrified by the assault on our Capitol. Political violence is an attack on everything we cherish as Americans. It can never be tolerated.
But that was then. This is now:
Former president Donald Trump said he would issue full pardons and a government apology to rioters who stormed the U.S. Capitol on Jan. 6, 2021, and violently attacked law enforcement to stop the democratic transfer of power.
“I mean full pardons with an apology to many,” he told conservative radio host Wendy Bell on Thursday morning. . . .
Supporters of the former president attacked the Capitol as Congress was confirming Joe Biden’s electoral college win in the 2020 election, the worst attack on the seat of democracy in more than two centuries. The insurrection left four people dead, and an officer who had been sprayed with a powerful chemical irritant, Brian D. Sicknick, suffered a stroke and died the next day. About 140 members of law enforcement were injured as rioters attacked them with flagpoles, baseball bats, stun guns, bear spray and pepper spray.
He’s gone from “It can never be tolerated” to actually providing financial aid to the criminals:
“I am financially supporting people that are incredible and they were in my office actually two days ago, so they’re very much in my mind,” Trump said. “It’s a disgrace what they’ve done to them. What they’ve done to these people is disgraceful.”
The far left occasionally complains that poor black defendants are political prisoners due to the bias in our judicial system. That’s a bit of a stretch, but vastly more plausible than the claim that the system is biased against first responders:
In his interview with Bell, Trump suggested that the Jan. 6 defendants are “mostly” “firemen, they’re policemen, they’re people in the military.” He accused the justice system, which he described as “this radical left system,” of mistreating the defendants.
The victims were also police officers. So why does Trump favor criminal police officers over those brave police officers that tried to protect us from the “assault on our Capitol”?

While other countries cling to the stale past, here in America we breathe life into dreams. We create the future, and the world follows us into tomorrow. Thanks to each wave of new arrivals to this land of opportunity, we’re a nation forever young, forever bursting with energy and new ideas, and always on the cutting edge, always leading the world to the next frontier. This quality is vital to our future as a nation. If we ever closed the door to new Americans, our leadership in the world would soon be lost.

That’s what happens from communist regimes when they control media and government. The INFORMATION, i.e. “the narrative”, is destroyed and replaced with lies the public trusts as truths, much like a PHYSICAL location war zone becomes visibly destroyed where industry and residential neighborhoods are replaced with rubble, militia organizations (e.g. Antifa, BLM).

You’re conflating two very different groups at the capitol.
The hundreds of thousands of protestors must be distinguished from the FBI and other fed infiltration of the protests, e.g. Ray Epps.
The FBI spied on, arrested, and threw into gulags MANY NON VIOLENT protestors, and not only that, but they even arrested people who were not even at the capitol.
There are innocent people rotting in prison. THOSE are who Trump is intending to pardon, NOT THOSE WHO COMMITTED CRIMES.

The January 6th Committee hearings were a complete nothing burger so they raided Trump’s house to keep the heat on him.
Every swamp hoax against Trump is designed to prevent the swamp’s corruption from being exposed.
The FBI unit in charge of the Russia Collusion hoax, is the same FBI unit that burglarized Trump’s home.

Unfortunately, the hesitancy of the Justice Department to prosecute Trump lends credibility to his claims that the charges are overblown. If Trump’s crimes are so serious, why not arrest him immediately? Of course, this only presents a problem to stupid and/or ingnorant voters.
I see no logic in a policy that says a sitting President cannot be indicted, arrested, and prosecuted. Hence, it makes even less sense to hesitate to prosecute a former President. The Justice Department waited about 18 long months for Trump to voluntarily return highly sensitive classified documents. They should have sought a warrant immeduately and stormed his home many months ago.
Of course, Trump has no legal strategy. His strategy, to the extent it ever exists, is to politically bully those who would hold him accountable. The FBI needs to arrest him and treat him like the criminal he is.

Re Epstein/Maxwell—-was it really only them who were pedophiles? I thought there was going to be investigations——-guess not.
Why are we so many anxious to arrest Trump? For example——Michael Sandifer states the FBI needs to arrest Trump and Treat him like the criminal he is. How does he know this?
